Hello Lights,
Hope we're letting our Light Shine Bright. It's been a minute, I know.
Fear is a terrible disease. After all the birthday celebration two weeks ago, I had my POP (Passing Out Parade) from NYSC two days after. All thanks to God for the success of that experience. Yes, It was an experience. Thankfully, I learnt a lot this one year of service. Sadly, the end of my service brought about a realisation. Now, I had to face the world of "Job Searching". The mere thought of this made me scared. I hate uncertainties. Unfortunately, there's no way of actually knowing what the future holds before hand. So the past two weeks went from "happy to be a year older" to "I'm getting old", "what am I doing with my life", "I need a plan", "What if I don't get a job, how would I cope", and many other questions.
And so, I became worried and scared of the uncertainties without realising it. This in turn affected my productivity. All the things I had been wishing I had free time to do, I abandoned completely. I wasn't even motivated to draw or create anything. Let me not even go into the cash situation in the country. Nigerian readers would understand what I mean. Fear and worry blinded me from seeing the opportunity I had right in front of me. The opportunity for self development was right there staring me in the face but I didn't see it.
God is Awesome. He's always there. One day, out of frustration and boredom, I just sat down, looked up to God and I literally just said, "God you're looking at me like this ooh, It's all in your control". All it took was one gift of encouragement from God and I had all the motivation I had been searching for. I guess, what I'm trying to say is that no matter how low you think you are, God dey! He's not asleep neither is he dead that he won't hear you. All you need to do is call his attention. If your heart is willing, he will polish it with his grace. It's not easy at all. Everyone has one issue or the other that they consider a serious problem or challenge or obstacle. Yes we can't see the future, but God can. So why not link up with him. Let God be your anchor in the storms of life. At least then you'll be able to sleep soundly even in the midst of the storm.
Do not let fear and worry limit you from shining your Light. Lean on God, the strongest pillar and support. He is your no. 1 supporter. He'll never leave or let you walk alone. He's always right by your side. Just call on him, He'll answer you.
