JUST A PRAYER AWAY

Wow🥰✨️
First off, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who read my previous post. It was my first post back in a long time. I can't thank you all enough for the love and support. It's been surreal and extremely encouraging.
There were a lot of comments on my last post and I realised that I only addressed one part and I needed to address the other. What am I saying? In my previous post I talked about how I'd been in a place of self deceit and I drifted away from God and at some point, though it took me a while, I was able to retrace my steps back to God. But a question was asked, "Does God Stop Speaking?"

The answer, NO. I'll explain. Take my situation for example. I wrote in my previous post on how I ignored God and his instructions and the more I did that, the more I stopped hearing him instruct me on certain things. He didn't stop speaking, I stopped listening. I used to watch this show on Nickelodeon called Victorious. There were two characters in the show who were in a relationship (Beck and Jade)and they were almost always fighting. Whenever they got into an argument, It was almost as if Jade developed selective hearing. Cos she only heard whatever she wanted to hear from Beck when he spoke to her. Funny. Thats how it is most times for some of us. We have selective hearing.

The Holy Spirit is our check as Christians unfortunately some of us don't want to be checked. We want to live free to do whatever like the world but still be known as 'Christ-Like'. The Holy Spirit has probably called you out on your mistakes severally but time and time again, you've ignored. You hear what you want to hear and ignore the rest. Someone once told me that his church is a new testament church cos they preach good news and there's no good news in the old testament.  Thats how some of us choose the part of God's instruction that we want to hear or listen to.  The sad reality is that, cos God never actually stops speaking you keep going without realising how far you've actually gone from him. For some, it's a calling you've ignored over and over again and God has told himself, "I'm not going to bring it up again". Well of course you'll still hear from him, cos he'll keep checking on you as his child. No good loving father will abandon their child just like that. But you may never receive those divine instructions again from him. You can't be a Child of God and not be ready to receive one beating or the other from your father, God, when even our earthly parents rebuke us. At least I know how much punishment and flogging I've received from my parents for misbehaving.

But you see, God is merciful cos he loves us. Regardless of how many times or how far you think you've strayed from God, you can always come back to him. There's a song by Jaci Velasquez that says
"you're just a prayer away
No matter where I am"
No matter what terrible thing you think you've done, no matter how unredeemable you think you are, God is just a prayer away. Don't ever think that cos of the distance between you and God, you can't go back to him in prayer. Talk to God . He's there waiting for you. He doesn't stop speaking neither does he stop hearing. Yes, the Bible says God doesn't listen to the prayers of a sinner, but the prayer of repentance and forgiveness, he hears. Its never too late to rekindle that relationship with God. I'm telling you, it will be the best decision you ever made.

Please oh, it's not enough to just pray and go back and relax. Rekindling a relationship requires communication. Constant communication. How? Added to prayer, study the word of God. Listen and Obey. Fellowship with other believers. Thank God for technology. We have unlimited access to sermons and teachings by seasoned men and women of God. Attend bible study from time to time. Let the word of God become you. And when it's time, please don't forget to share with others.
Don't forget, You are Light.
And you must shine.
Cheers 🥂
