"What will people say"

    I remember when I was in secondary school, there was something I always told my juniors especially, Life is like a map. Each person's life map is different. There might only be a few things similar. Just like every map, our life map has obstacles, these represent the challenges we face, our life map also has different routes, these represent the consequences of any simple decision we make. On each person's life map there is a path that God has created for each and every one of us, that path is a narrow and rough way of course but it leads you to the treasure, which is Heaven. The only thing is that like in most treasure hunts, the hunters always choose the smoothest journey and as usual it leads them to a dead end.
    This is a short illustration on how every human being's life is. But do you know what puts some or most people off track, it's simple.  "What will people say?". This is the one thing that stops a lot of people from becoming whom they are meant to be, especially teenagers.
     You know it's feels great to use that phrase "when I was in secondary school". So, when I was in secondary school, in my final year, there was this girl in my class. My school was a redeem school, so we had our own chapel, and students sometimes did the preaching. I for one was always eager to preach to my school mates. So this girl in question, I won't describe her because some people may know her and she may be reading this, she was always called up to preach and one day I noticed that almost every time she preaches she ends with a talk like "you shouldn't care what people say about you, you are on this earth to live your life and them live theirs, so don't let what they say get to. Let them say". So today I'm telling you reading this, the same thing you shouldn't care what anyone anywhere says about you and I'm adding, as long as what you're doing is right, LET THEM SAY. You have your own life to live. Learn to stand out no matter what. You know sometimes when I want to dress up, a part of me says, "Oh Ed your clothes are out of style, you need to get the latest clothes", another part of me says, "Baby girl, you do not need the latest clothes to be in style, you can rock whatever you have and make everyone look like they are out of style". That's my way of standing out. I mean nowadays you see some clothes and ask yourself "is this what someone will wear out of their house?". Nowadays, once a celebrity wears something even if it is rag, before you know, it's in the market and everybody is buying and wearing it. Why?, Because one celebrity wore it. Seriously what is this world turning into to me it's no longer style, it is madness because the cloth barely covers any part of your body and you call that style. Please No offense if you dress like that and you're reading this oh. I'm not pinpointing at you oh. I'm just speaking from what I see happening around me. But to be honest we were taught in primary school the uses of clothes in home economics.
    There are some things that shouldn't be. Some people will say ok it's not because of the celebrity wearing it bit because everyone is wearing and they're slaying. All your friends are wearing it. SO WHAT! Must you be like them. Some will say eh they'll say I'm old school. SO WHAT. LET THEM SAY!!! You prefer they drag you down the wrong path. Like I said earlier, everyone's life map is different. Don't join them because they are route looks easy and stress free. Trust me the end is far worse than what you'll face on the way to heaven. To tell you the truth, It's a normal life hack. Anyone whose life seems easy because he or she is doing one thing or the other, always has a price to pay. It's not only in movies that it happens and besides movies are a reflection of what happens or what has  happened in the society.
